Lebanon Emergency: Tdh is supporting children
After the deadly explosion that shook Beirut on Tuesday evening, Terre des hommes UK is mobilising to help the Lebanese population. Our local teams are currently in Beirut to provide emergency aid, with a particular focus on protection and psychological support for children and families.
The toll of the disaster is still unclear but we know that nearly 160 people have died, more than 5,000 injured and dozens of people are missing. Already affected by a serious economic crisis, social tensions and paralysed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Lebanon - which hosts nearly one million Syrian and Palestinian refugees - is on its knees. The people of Lebanon need your support !
Tdh teams have been working alongside children and families in Lebanon since 1977. To find out more about how Tdh support's refugee and host communities in Lebanon please read our interview with Fatima Ardat, our Child Protection Program Manager in Lebanon, who we spoke to in June. She told about her work in Lebanon, difficulties she's faced during the COVID19 the pandemic, and how Tdh projects in Lebanon are responding on the ground.
